Regular Boilers vs System Boilers September 10, 2021 Whether you want to modernise your home or make use out of the advantages that come along with a new boiler, choosing the right type of boiler for your home can be difficult. Our heating engineers have come together and gone through what you need to know about regular and system boilers, to help you make the right decision. The difference between regular and system boilers What is a Regular Boiler? Regular boilers are often known as conventional or traditional boilers. There is a hot water cylinder with immersion and a cold water tank. The greatest thing about these boilers is that you can programme for it to heat your home and have hot water at a time suited to you. You may have to wait for a little while if your hot water stored in the hot water cylinder does run out. Also, if you have a large family or live in a home with more than one bathroom, a regular boiler is better suited to meet the needs of your requirements. What is a system boiler? These types of boilers are highly popular in newer homes and the reason for this is because even though they are very similar to regular boilers and come along with a hot water cylinder, they do not require an additional storage tank. They are carefully designed with built-in circulating pumps and are very easy to install. You are also able to programme when the heating and hot water comes on and the cylinder also stored the hot water so you do not have to wait for a long time to use the hot water. Which boiler should you go for? Both boilers are great for larger sized homes, however, choosing a system boiler will help you save space in your home. Also, in many new homes, a regular boiler is already installed and the tanks are in great condition so you do not need to worry about getting it replaced. Once you have decided on the type of boiler you would like to go for, you will need to consider the size of the boiler too.
