When will the energy prices go down?
Between the ever-rising energy prices and the cost of living crisis, there is a lot for us to worry about in our day-to-day lives. Here at Enflame Heating and Plumbing, we understand that times are tough and are committed to helping you in any way possible. Although the soaring energy prices are impossible to avoid altogether, we can help with keeping your energy prices as low as possible.
This post takes a closer look at the rising energy prices and explains how we can help you save money on your energy bills.
Are Energy Prices Expected to Keep Rising?
UK households were slapped with a massive 54% rise in their energy bills in April 2022 and strapped in tight, expecting a further 80% increase set to land in October 2022. However, the government’s Energy Price Guarantee limited the October increase to 27%, which was no more than a small win for UK residents.
Although many households hoped this would be the last they would see of increases in their energy prices, this would not be the case. Despite the October Energy Price Guarantee, prices are set to increase a further 20% in January 2023. The current energy price cap has limited typical household energy bills to around £2,500 a year in Great Britain and £1,950 a year in Northern Ireland.
Despite the energy price cap being set to rise to £4,279 in January, this is not what the typical household will pay in the UK. This is because the Energy Price Guarantee will continue to apply and protect typical households. At this point in time, no further increases in prices have been confirmed, and bill-payers will remain protected by the Energy Price Guarantee until March 2024.
Will Energy Prices Return to Normal?
The likelihood of energy prices returning to normal remains rather slim at this point in time, and it is hard to say when or even if they will return to their “normal price”. Since the Energy Price Guarantee is set to be in place until March 2024, one could assume that we are unlikely to see a decrease in energy prices, at least until then.

Expert Gas Engineers at Competitive Prices
Having a brand new boiler installed may be something that is out of the budget for you currently, but a new boiler is only sometimes needed to reduce your energy prices. Often, our boilers and central heating systems need just a little bit of “TLC” to keep them working efficiently.
Our expert gas engineers take pride in providing the service you need, with our customer's welfare always a priority. So, suppose you are under the impression that you need a new boiler, but our engineers do not agree.
